The Bike for Life will be “The Weber Foundation’s” second event this year, raising donations for our Helping Hands fund. The ride will take place Saturday, October 6th with a rain date of Sunday, October 7th through a breathtaking, picturesque route near Sebago Lake in Maine. Registration will begin at 7:00 am, with ride starting at 8:30 am. More details will follow with an information package, once we receive your entry form. So don’t delay! | |
It will be a one-day ride. Each person will choose 25, 50 or 75 miles. Bike rentals will be available, information to come. Riders must be 13 years or older, but anyone under 13 may help on the ground crew. Children must be accompanied by a parent or guardian, 18 years or older, at all times. All participants will have an entry fee of $15.00. Families should send $15.00 per adult and for the first child and then, $10.00 for every child after that. You may be able to find a business to sponsor you and your family if you start now!
The pledges raised on this ride will help individuals and families stricken by catastrophic situations, such as, life-threatening illness, natural disasters or other disasters placing them in a desperate financial need. This event will help a little nine-year-old girl, Bryanna Bryce from Limerick, Maine. She needs a kidney transplant. We gave her a small grant already, but the family needs quite a bit of money for the father to take off work for 3 months to have surgery himself to supply his daughter with his kidney. He is self-employed, with no insurance and has four other children at home. You are one of the guardian angels that can help this family through their crisis. We appreciate the time you are giving up to help another. Thank you!
Each participant will make it a goal to raise a minimum of $250 in contributions; for families, the minimum is $500.00. Your pledge sheet is enclosed. Make extra copies of it before filling it out and start collecting your pledges immediately. All checks should be made payable to “The Weber Foundation of Helping Hands, Inc.” Please mail in your pledge sheet along with the pledges no later than October 1, 2001. The address to mail these is printed on the bottom of that sheet.
Please support us by volunteering your time on the preparation, being a rider, joining the vehicle support crews, donating supplies or simply making a donation. Remember, it takes a lot of helping hands to make a difference. Let’s make a difference together and work as a team to reach our goal of $30,000. CLICK HERE FOR APPLICATION |
