  Fund Raising Events
First Annual "Weber Humanitarian Award"

This award recognizes an outstanding individual who has distinguished themselves through their ongoing effort in raising funds for The Weber Foundation of Helping Hands. This person has developed and implemented a series of events with many other volunteers and spirit-minded people who have gone beyond our imagination. In fact, in just two years, this group of committed individuals has raised over $50,000. Tokyo Joe’s Studio all over New England along with Tony Silva’s Iron Fist Karate Dojo has outperformed themselves in conducting their own Kick-a-Thon fundraising events for the foundation.

The First Annual Humanitarian Award was presented to Bobby Lamantina who has demonstrated humanitarian qualities, which characterize his commitment to giving back to others.

A little boy named Robby Sorrentino touched my heart 3 ½ years ago. He became my inspiration to start the Weber Foundation of Helping Hands. Here are Robby's parents accepting a plaque commemorating their son, Robby and this First Annual Robbie Sorrentino Memorial Award.

1ST Annual Robert Sorrentino Memorial Award

The Robert Sorrentino Memorial Award is to commemorate the 3rd Anniversary of the foundation and to create an enduring tribute to the little boy who inspired us all to look beyond ourselves. This special award is given to a community leader who exemplifies the spirit for which the foundation was established.

Our first recipient for the
Robert Sorrentino Memorial Award goes to Loni Paxton of the New England Patriots in recognition of his dedication and commitment through his foundation called “Active Force Foundation” which helps disabled athletes by providing them with extreme handicapped equipment.

3RD Annual “Helping Hands Award”

This award is truly dear to my heart - An award that recognizes one of our very special Volunteers – one person who has made significant contributions to the goals and mission of this foundation. This individual understands the Art of Giving… not only did they give their time, but also gave their heart and soul to a cause that deeply touches us all. It is their compassionate spirit that really stands out – our 2004 Helping Hands Award Winner – Executive Committee Member, Marika Merva.
